Social Impact
Beyond professional work, this space documents the community and social-welfare activities I take part in.
Community Field Visit to Pachamalai Hills
Undertook a community field visit to Pachamalai Hills, a remote and underserved hilly region, to understand living conditions, educational opportunities, livelihood patterns, and availability of basic infrastructure. Interacted with local residents and identified major concerns including limited access to education — no school facility was available within the immediate region, and the highest level of formal education reported was around the sixth standard. The primary sources of livelihood were agriculture, fishing, and traditional activities closely connected to natural resources. The community had experienced limited access to outside support and essential facilities since approximately 2004, with difficulties relating to education, ration facilities, roads, electricity, technology, and other basic infrastructure.
Role: Field researcher and community observer. Conducted direct interactions with residents, documented observations and concerns, and co-authored a submission to the office of the Honourable Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Udhayanidhi Stalin, highlighting the need for improved educational facilities, road connectivity, and basic infrastructure.
Report Submission to Government Authorities
Following the Pachamalai Hills field visit, the observations and concerns identified during the field study were documented and formally submitted to the concerned authorities. The submission highlighted the gap between urban development and the basic needs of remote communities, and recommended improvements in educational facilities, road connectivity, and other basic infrastructure for the community.
Role: Co-authored and submitted the field report to government authorities advocating for inclusive development and accessible education in underserved regions.
